DENGUE … AGAIN!
It is the season of dengue mosquitoes and other mosquito-related diseases again.
In Cebu, the news says that there is a 16.45% marked increase of dengue cases compared to the that recorded in the same period last year.
While the government agencies are doing their jobs in the fight against dengue, realistically, we cannot solely rely on them. Instead we can our own efforts to fight and prevent being victimized by these clean-water-breeding mosquitoes (the regular mosquitoes bring about other kinds of diseases, like Malaria).
Some preventive measures we can do include:
- Eliminating possible breeding grounds, such as: open containers, tin cans, soda and other bottles, old tires, flower vases, etc.
- Cleaning of roof gutters and canals.
- Wearing protective dress and applying repellants and controllers, like, Natures BIONIM and Natures BIO CLEANSER (NBC).

AUTOMATED POLL: PHILIPPINE NATIONAL ELECTION 2010
Automated polling system! Anyone familiar? The Philippine National Election 2010 is nearing! That includes electing a New Philippine President! This is a serious election year …. all must be serious about picking and selecting from the outrageously long list of aspiring candidates. But, what good is choosing and campaigning for a candidate if it is not translated into official ballots? This makes the actual voting becomes VERY IMPROTANT! All must know and be familiar with voting through the new automated polling machine. Vigilance matters!

MAMA’S BANGUS IN CORN OIL: Homemade Bangus Sardines: All Natural, No Preservative
Sinardinas na Bangus!! (Milkfish Sardines)
I have to admit it, this “Mama’s Bangus in Corn Oil” Homemade sardines is one of the best sardines I ever tasted.
The thick sauce … spicily-just-right … the fish meat, tender and juicy (yes, not as dry as that in the popular shelves) … the tasteful “bangus belly” … and most importantly, the fish bone! … perfectly cooked, soft and tender … never a taste of mud …. never a taste of something fishy …. not even that familiar fishy sardines smell just like those from the little cans … best for “meals”, “pulutan” or “pasalubong” (gift) — I ordered mine and brought a packful across the sea!!! It’s really good and NO PRESERVATIVE added!
When you are looking for a ”really” fresh bangus sardines cooked just right and without smelling fishy, order from ”Mama’s Bangus Sardines in Corn Oil”. http://zahlreich.wordpress.com
No wonder! Mama, the cook, personally picks all the ingredients carefully and cook it just like cooking for his well-loved family …. It is homemade, no preservative (but it last even a week without refrigeration, but I’m sure, just like me, a serving will not last more than few minutes). You just have to try it! You got to taste it! … so you’ll know what I mean!
Many book for advance orders and pick it up! They even deliver in clean, carefully packed plastic ware …. within Makati City (for now).
The “3 slices in tomato sardines sauce” is my favorite. Definitely just right!

Mama's Bangus in Corn Oil: Homemade Bangus Sardines in thick Spicy-right Tomato Sauce. No Preservative, All Natural
NOTE: ”MAMA” got a list in her menu (ask if available): like, Menudo (saucy), Lumpiang sariwa, (“ubod” ng sarap); kilawing-baboy (tagalog-style), crispy-fried chicken (tastier than the all-crusted ones)… etc … all flavorfully homely food…. Call “Mama” for your order: 0 9 2 7 7 1 3 7 9 8 8

THE DOCTOR NO MORE
Hayden Kho is officially stripped of his license to practice medicine by the Philippine Regulatory Commission (PRC). Although some say it is too harsh a penalty, many are convinced that it is but proper having caught red-handed with sex videos and sex scandals stored in his personal computers … with different partners, most are his former girlfriends or having relationship with at the time of surreptitiously filming the titillating sex acts … fantasy-fulfilling sex acts.
Sometime in Cebu, a surgical operation on a patient to remove a cologne-spray-canister from the patient’s anus, was filmed and documented through a cellphone or mobile phone camera. But, things get out of hand when the surgery room were noticeably filled with people not members of the surgical team. Worst, during the procedure, the crowd, most not in proper vests and masks with their head and personal cellphones almost a few feet (some, few inches) from the patient’s exposed bottom, disregarding the protocol.
When the cologne-spray-canister was finally removed, the senior (doctor?) was even seen and heard to be exclaiming, in jest, as if they were delivering a baby, feeding the crowd a push to act as if in a circus. The video was all over the Net.
Some weeks after, the patient filed a complaint, claiming, the filming was improper and unprofessional violating his rights as a patient. Doctors and some members of the crowd were suspended from their profession and school (some were nurses and interns).
To date, no penalties harsher and proper than a suspension is heard. Hence, many asks, what is worst a doctor surreptitiously filming sex videos without consent of his partners (yes, many of them. Some are even celebrities and co-doctors) and exposed to public? (Hayden Kho denies any hand in the exposure) or doctors being unprofessional and violating ethics rules in the performance of duties?
Still, the question of license revocation lies in the hands of the Philippine Regulatory Commission (PRC).

TWILIGHT … NEWMOON … EDWARD CULLEN …. ORGANIC-VAMPIRE
The “Twilight Saga” talks of vegetarian-vampire …. organic?
The story of vampires never fails to fascinate us. From “Count Dracula” (of Sesame Street)
… and “Dracula” (Christopher Lee)

Christopher Lee
….. and “Prince Dracula” (Gary Oldman)

Gary Oldman (Prince Dracula)
…. then Tom Cruise …

Tom Cruise
…. and now comes the “Twilight Saga” … the “New Moon” by Stephenei Meyer … with Edward Cullen, as the Vampire.
Instantly a multitude are caught in a vampire’s hypnotic spell – the Twi-hards.
Count Dracula was hilarious …. Christopher Lee was tough …. Tom Cruise were a charming-fear, but Edward Cullen made vampires an icon.

Robert Pattinson (Edward Cullen)
The Twilight saga is an instant hit. It captured all fascinations and emotions. A human-girl (Bella) caught in in a love triangle between a Vampire (Edward Cullen) and a Werewolf (Jacob) – mortal enemies born to kill each other.
It is so fascinating following the saga. “Twilight” hit it big, but “New Moon”, the second book, is a whammm! It’s a swarm! The transformation from a human-form to a monstrous-vicious werewolf is a masterful-graph; a vampires true self revealed in a blissful and beautiful artistry … Stephenie Meyer is a a vampire-genius. That’s how her once simple dream had rolled into a book … into a movie … into a hit!
I’m sure, Meyer’s Edward Cullen will live forever as the rest of humanity hunger and thirst for more ….

ELECTION AND POSITIONING
President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo filed her Certificate of Candidacy (COC) for a Congressional Seat in Pampanga, her hometown, defining all speculations on her future plans after her offical term of office as President of the Philippines.
Critics say that the move is rather inappropriate and that she should have instead not run for any other public office, at least out of "delicadeza".
Other even say that it is a clever move towards the ultimate goal of setting the plane towards a new form of Government and to be the Prime Minister AND avoidance to face legal accusations.
In the meantime, the Maguindanao Massacre must not be forgotten. Newspaper pages are now of election booboos - familiar names, perennial candidates, actors, wives, nephews and nieces of political dynasties ... Philippine election is really amusing and errrrrr .... at some point, annoying. Imagine, the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) announced that there are EIGHT (80) aspiring candidates for President of the Philippines. That's a lot of work for the COMELEC to do the pickings .... yes, the nuiance candidates from the legitimate ones .... let's see by December 14.
